Strollers can be left at the Guest Service booth adjacent to Schroeder Gate 1 across from Section 136 and retrieved as you exit TDECU Stadium. Rankings from AP PollThe 2018 Houston Cougars football team represented the University of Houston in the 2018 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Cougars played their home games at TDECU Stadium in Houston, Texas, and competed in the West Division of the American Athletic Conference. They finished the season 8–5, 5–3 in AAC play to finish in a three-way tie for the West Division championship. After tiebreakers, they did not represent the West Division in the AAC Championship Game. They were invited to the Armed Forces Bowl where they lost to Army by a score of 14–70, in the process tying records for the most points given up and the largest margin-of-loss in NCAA bowl game history.

Public restrooms are conveniently located throughout TDECU Stadium. Any attempt to bring prohibited items into TDECU Stadium will be considered a violation of the Code of Conduct and may result in the guest being ejected, arrested or tickets being revoked. Violators of the rules of any State or City laws will be refused admission, asked to leave or ejected from TDECU Stadium property. All guests needing to claim or report lost items during an event should visit the guest services desks by Schroeder Gate 1 across from section 136. At the end of each event, all unclaimed items will be turned in to security . Guests must present valid photo identification and sign a receipt in order to claim lost items.
Yurachek said TSU has been "very accommodating" in sharing its facility and meeting on the football field would be a "win-win situation." The Cougars finished the 2017 season 7–5, 5–3 in AAC play to finish in second place in the West Division. They were invited to the Hawaii Bowl where they lost to Fresno State.

Prior to game day they can go online and claim one ticket for entry into the game. The ticket will be loaded to their account 24 hours prior to the game and downloaded directly to their phone for a Mobile ticket. On game day, if tickets are still available students may claim one ticket starting four hours prior to kickoff at the ICON Gate 2 ticket booth. Students must present a valid Cougar Card to claim a physical ticket on game day. The student entrance is ICON Gate 2 on the southeast side of TDECU Stadium.
Back-to-back road games to start the season is a tough ask, even if both are in-state and against teams with similar or lesser talent than UH. Houston has not begun a season with two true road games since 2007, and it’s only happened one other time in the last 30 years . The Coogs started with two true road games in 1986, 1988, and 1989. Considering that UH has an undergraduate enrollment of almost 40,000 students with 224,000 living alumni, 63 percent of them in the Houston area, the football team shouldn’t have so much trouble filling a stadium. Houston’s problem may be that, for whatever reason, its students simply aren’t all that interested in attending Cougars games.

Houston will receive additional revenue when it joins the Big 12 next summer. Problem is, with Texas and Oklahoma planning to leave the conference no later than 2025 and probably earlier, the Big 12’s television-rights revenues are expected to fall off a cliff. Of the three that did—Texas Tech ($189,438), Kansas ($3.86 million), and West Virginia ($8.98 million)—all received far less than Houston.
The University of Houston Department of Athletics cannot be held responsible for lost or damaged items. First Aid stations are located in the southwest corner by section 118 and the northeast corner by section 136 of TDECU Stadium. All personnel are expected to behave in a responsible manner and follow the direction of athletic department staff, police and/or event management staff. All personnel on field level voluntarily assume all risk of property loss and personal injury. They specifically assume all risk related to their authorized presence on the sidelines and/or playing surface and shall exercise extraordinary caution in this area. Authorized personnel only are permitted on field level of TDECU Stadium with proper credential.
Now amid a changing landscape and with a conference that may just survive the loss of its anchor schools, Texas and Oklahoma, UH could be perfectly positioned for the future. For me, the nightmare memory is of rats scurrying around the old Hofheinz Pavilion. If you attended a basketball game in the building’s final two decades before it was refurbished and reborn as the Fertitta Center, you may have seen the rodents in the concourses, seating areas, or even around the court. Although they harmed no one and minded their own business while living well on discarded hot dogs, burgers, and pizza, the rats did not add to the building’s charm. In conjunction with the University of Houston's tobacco-free campus initiative, smoking, including electronic cigarettes/vaping, is not permitted on any University grounds, including TDECU Stadium.
Perhaps the single smartest move UH made was luring Sampson away from the Houston Rockets in 2014 to coach the men’s basketball team. He’s a master program-builder and proven winner, and best of all, he has fallen in love with Houston. Sampson had the force of personality—and the results—to shake donors from a decades-long stupor and persuade them to pony up for what would be a sea change for the school. He showed everyone connected with UH that the Cougars could still be relevant. On the other hand, fan interest should grow once UH is back in the same conference as historically familiar opponents such as Texas Tech, Baylor, and TCU.
It also will be interesting to see how the Cougars bring along incoming freshman Kelan Walker, whom the coaching staff has high praise for. The final game at Robertson Stadium will be the regular-season finale, Nov. 24 against Tulane. Unless, of course, Houston earns the right to host the C-USA championship game, in which case the Robertson finale would be Dec. 1.
